Started Lupron Shots

My first shot I gave it to myself in my car. I was at my friend's belly dancing event and I almost forgot because I was busy trying to help them with different things. Anyway. Did the step by step instuctions. It was very easy and did not hurt one bit. 25 more lupron to go out of 29 total.

Received Injection Medication

Well I received my package of everything today. They gave me the entire supply that I am going to need for all of my injections including the Progesterone. None of it needs to be refridgerated. Also I have to take a pill called Estrace. So I just wait till this Friday and I start giving myself Lupron shots.

Pharmacy called to confirm

Walgreen Pharmacy called to make sure they have the correct address and that I wanted the medication to be shipped today or by Tuesday. I told them to ship it ASAP. This way I can take a look at it and make sure everything is "A" "OK". It is nice that they ship it directly to my house. No worries and they can always get it there next day. Also is seems that Jeff (intended father) received my email. He said that he will be trying to contact the pharmacy today. Which it looks like he did. Thank Jeff. I have never been so excited to be able to give myself shots for the next several months everyday but you do what you gotta do.

Confirmed some details

I talked with Melanie (Fertiliy Clinc) to make sure that when I finish taking my Birth control pills on Feb 24th. I asked if I had to use another type of birth control until the Embryo transfer date. Melanie said that she thought it would be a good idea. She told me though it would be a very slim chance to get pregnant while I am on Lupron because it is suppose to stop my eggs from releasing. But just to be safe we will use other birth control. Otherwise I am waiting for the Pharmacy to contact me and send me the medication but I found out that the Intended Parents have not contacted the pharmacy yet to give them billing information. So I am hoping they get that completed soon. Melanie said she hopes they do something by Feb. 16th Tues. so I will have enough time to have the medication sent to me before Feb. 19th. I hope they do. It would be sad if we have to redo all of the dates of all of my appointments. Also I tried to resend the email that was never sent letting the Intended Parents know the dates of my appointments.

Emailing Intended Parents

I email Jeff and Rita today to let them know that I had talked with Melanie at the fertility clinic and told them the dates that I had schedule. I also CC'ed Sarah at the surrogacy agency. I think it is nice to keep everyone updated. But the Intended Parents email address said that it was not valid so I thought that was odd. So I will resend the email in a couple days.

Instructions for Shots

Melanie (Nurse at Fertility clinic) called me to give me over the phone instructions on how to give my first shot. She is also sending me the information in the mail. I am pretty comfortable with the first shots. They are a smaller needle and it goes into my stomach or thigh area so it is easy for me to do myself. I am going to start my injections on Feb 19th and then I think but I am going to reconfirm that I will be stopping my birth control on Feb 24th 2010. I will have to ask if I have to use other ways of birth control from then to my Embryo Transfer date which is planned to be on March 25th 2010. After I start my injections I will go into the clinic to get an vaginal ultrasound and blood work on March 4th 2010. Then I will go again on March 18th for just a vaginal ultrasound also at this appointment she will be giving me instruction on how to give my other injection which I will have to have someone else do it because of the location that it has to be administered. After that they have me scheduled for my Embryo Transfer on March 25th 2010. I am very excited. The supplies for the shots are being delivered to my house and they are kits of 14 days. She said for the first shots I will be using 2 of the kits. 28day of shots so far.

Fertility Clinic called me

I had left a message on Monday that my cycle had started but they were not able to get back to me that day so I recieved a call today from Melanie (Nurse at Fertility Clinic) she said that I need to start my first birth control pill Wednesday night this is 2 days before I should have started my new pack of birth control pills. She also asked me if the birth control I was on was consistantly giving the same amount of the dose each day that month. I called my pharmacy and asked them and they said that Tri-nessa changes the dose each week. So I called Melanie back so that she can call me in a new perscription for a pill that will be the dose she wants. So I need to pick that up on my way home today.

I started my cycle

This was the most exciting day for me. So far I have been through multiple processes to get to this point and it was just one more closer to getting pregnant. (and getting the shots over with) I have never been so excited for the first day of my period in my life. I was told to call Melanie ( Nurse at Fertility Clinic ) when I started my next cycle. I called and made my appointment to go and talk with about my next steps with the surrogacy. I called and she was not available so I left her a message to call me back.

I always like to say what I am expecting when I go to an appointment and then after when I get there what actually happens. This shows you how unpredictable it can be. That is why all I can do is laugh at this point on whatever happens at those appointments. I believe they are going to sit me down and we are going to put the dates of when I need to start my shots, how long I am going to be on that paticular drug, then I am sure they will estimate a Embryo transfer date and then show me how long I will be giving myself the other shots. Only time and showing up to that appointment will tell if that is actually what is going to happen. We will see.
