Embryo Transfer

Today I am going to be getting 2 embryo's implanted. I did what the nurse told me to do. Went to the bathroom around 10:00AM and drank 20-24 oz of water between that time and 10:30AM. They called me in and had me sign some paperwork saying that I am saying it is ok to implant me with the embryo's. You want to make sure that you ask them who's embryo's they are transferring. They should have the name of your Intended Parents on the paper you are signing. After that I got on the table and we were off. The doctor had to clean the cervix with some pink stuff that I don't remember the name. Then he took a catheter like syringe and placed it in the tip of my uterous. I was watching the entire time on the ultrasound they had going. Then after he had the correct placement. He signaled the other doctor who was handling the embryo's. She handed him a syringe which he replaced the tip with the one that was already placed in my uterous. Then he squised the syringe and placed the embryo's. He gave the syringe back to the other doctor and she made sure that the embryo's were not still in the syringe. None of this hurt at all. Basiclly it was like a long PAP smear. The only thing that bothered me was that they had the ultrasound wand on my belly and she was pushing on my bladder that was full. Other than that no big deal. After that they wanted me to keep my head on my pillow and they pulled me to the top of the bed and put a blanket on me and told me that I needed to lay there for 30 mins. After the 30 mins my buzzer went off and the nurse did not come back in the room so I laid there for 9 more minutes even though I needed to go to the bathroom really bad. So I just got off the table and went to the restroom. Once I was finished the nurse had come into the room. She gave me my shot that I need to do daily and then I left. She gave me instructions on things not to do. Pretty much just take it easy so I ate some lunch and drove home. Then I rented some movies and sat on the couch the rest of the day. I am so excited and I hope these little babies decide to stay a while.

First Intermuscular Shot today

My friend from work has volunteered to be my shot giver. So she had never done this before. She and I were so nervous because we did not know what to expect about how it would feel. She did a great job it did not hurt at all. I was so happy that I got the first one over with and that I know now that it is not as horrible as I thought it was going to be. My friend and co-worker is also happy that it does not hurt me at all. 1 shot down 90 to go. I am so excited for next week's Embryo Transfer. Wish me luck.

Ultrasound appointment

I went in and they did my ultrasound I saw that my lining was very thick now on the machine screen. I was very excited. The doctor told me that everything looks great. The nurse called me that afternoon and told me to stop taking the Estradiol three times a day and start just taking it two times a day. Also she told me that I will stop my Lupron shots on March 31st and start my protozone shots on April 1st. I had my friend come with me to this appointment because she was going to be the person to give me my shots the entire time. I did not know until today on how many shots we will have to do. The nurse told me I will have to take it 1 week before my embryo transfer and 12 weeks after. So 13 WEEKS of intermuscular shots. That is 91 days of shots. Man this is going to be interesting. This was the only part I was dreading. But I have my friend with me and her and I know that this is what needs to be done so we are going to do it. If other people can do this than I can. Wish me luck. My next appointment is my Embryo Transfer date April 7th. The nurse is going to call me the day before to tell me what time it will be at. I am very excited. I just hope that the baby takes the first time so I don't have to go through the protozone shots again.

They are checking today to see if my estrogen level is down so that I can start the Estadiol tablets that i need to take once a day and then twice a day and then three times a day till the embryo transfer. They did my ultrasound which of course my overies were still dormant and my lining was a little bit thicker. That afternoon they called to tell me that my estrogen level was down and now I can start taking the Estadiol pills once a day. My Ultrasound and Bloodwork appointment

I went in to get an ultrasound and blood work. They said that my ovaries looked dormant which is good and they could see my lining was getting thicker. That afternoon they called to tell me that my estrogen level was to high so I had to do another week or so of the lupron shots. So my next appointment for an Ultrasound and blood work is going to be on March 15th. So now I have to give myself a total of 41 lupron shots.
